POSITION • Family in N. W. Calgary (Hidden Valley area) with a charming 20-year-old son with Cerebral Palsy in a wheelchair seeks an Aide/Respite Worker to provide assistance. • Looking for regular weekdays 7:30am to 3:00pm starting ASAP. • Responsibilities will include home and community access supports, toileting, showering, dressing, meal preparation, G-tube feeding, medication administration via G-tube, assisted oral feeding and lots of playing and fun. • Training and support will be provided. • Starting ASAP • Rate: $18 - $20 per hour based on experience. QUALIFICATIONS • Community Rehabilitation program students, Disabilities Studies, Physical, Occupational or Speech therapy, Kinesiology, Education, Health Care Aide, Psychology, Medicine or Nursing students. • Mature High School and College students will be considered. • Experience with Special Needs individuals an asset • Lifting & transferring 85lb. Necessary. Fully accessible home with track lift. • Valid driver’s license and liability insurance preferred • Willingness to work with family and other Aides as a team member • References & police check. • Must be a non-smoker and comfortable with cats.
