We are looking for a senior care person to stop by my grandparents' house for about 4 hours a week. Currently, my grandmother is in the hospital and is not expected to return home any time soon. In the meantime, my grandpa could use some assistance with errands, companionship, and some light housekeeping. He is otherwise self-sufficient (he bathes and dresses himself, can make basic meals). My grandpa lives with 1 cat and 2 other family members but they are busy and/or not able to give the little bit of extra care my grandpa needs. My grandpa has said he would really appreciate the extra help from a support worker/care person. I would do it myself, but do not live in town. We need someone with excellent communication who is kind, patient and non-judgemental (they live in a funky old house with more than the average amount of clutter...my grandpa is obsessed with recording all his old VHS tapes to DVD and he likes to collect tools that sometimes find their way into the living room). If you can tell a good joke, that is a bonus. You must have your own car and obviously a driver's licence. Duties and wage are negotiable. This is a new arrangement for our family and we have some idea of what we need but hope you will offer some input, as well. Thank-you!
