We're looking for an outgoing, hardworking person with a great attitude who would like to join our family and help us look after our 79 year old mother who speaks limited English. My mom's first language is Chinese/ Cantonese. Speaking Chinese isn't mandatory - but you should have good communication skills. * * * Before applying, please note: - we are not in position for sponsorship - we are at Grouse Mountain, North Vancouver. If you live far (like in Richmond, Surrey, etc), do you really want to commute 1-2 hours each way, esp if you don't have a car? Probably not. Our family of 4 lives upstairs while our mother lives in her own 2 bedroom suite downstairs. She is mobile with a walker and is self sufficient but requires some companionship and help to do little tasks around her house. This includes, cleaning, cooking & preparing meals, laundry, supervising & guiding my mom through her daily exercises, etc. Your daily chores would entail cleaning, meal prep, laundry upstairs while checking in on our mother every couple of hours. We have a spacious house and yard with lots of space for everyone to coexist. We are a very warm family and would like someone who could integrate well with our family.
