We are a family of 5 hoping to find a self starting flexible, responsible easy going female live in au pair to share our home ( room and board plus Canadian minimum wage) in exchange for childcare of a 2 year old girl, 5 and 7 year old boys. We are both police officers with varying shift schedules which allow for a maximum 35 hr work week and plenty of travel/ exploration time on your days off. Only require Tues- Fri only, 3 day weekend!! We require an applicant from a country that has a reciprocal agreement with Canada through the work/ holiday visa specific for childcare or a Canadian citizen. As an au pair you'd be responsible for your travel to Vancouver, your medical must be passed and restrictions removed from your working holiday visa, valid first aid and a valid driver license. About us Our kids are very active and require a healthy and active au pair. Both boys attend full school and need to be driven and picked up. 2 year old needs care only when we are working and has scheduled activities. We also have two jack russel terriers ( dogs) that require love and attention and if you are active you may enjoy walking them however it's not a requirement of the job... You must like dogs tho.... Our family enjoys spending time together, eating, laughing and enjoying life. We try to get away on holidays such as our family cabins in the summer and Mexico in the Winter.... We work hard and play hard too... Expectations We expect our au pair to be Honest, Patient, Responsible, willing to self start, maintain a clean and tidy household while ensuring the safety, security and well being for our children while we are at work. Respect and communication are key in all aspects of a relationship and this does not differ with our au pair. In fact we value the au pair and treat them as one of the family. You will be responsible for the organization of the kids bedrooms, their clothing, playroom and bathroom, making their breakfast, lunch and help prep dinner and help clean up. Since you are apart of the family there are household chores such as vacuuming, tidying up after you are finished in the kitchen and keeping your room and bathroom clean. We have a separate floor for our au pair so they feel like they have their own space and can feel " off" when they are not working. We also have an au pair car that is used for work ( fuel is paid) and pleasure ( fuel is paid by you as we pay the car insurance ) and we will pay your basic cell phone service and have wifi. We encourage our au pair to make their own friends and hang with us whether that be an outing or watching a movie or coming on vacation. Kids need to be driven to school and picked up so you must have a full valid drivers license. We are not interested in party types, smokers or drug users. We are not religious. We will conduct a thorough back ground and numerous reference checks.
