Young professional couple looking for a personal support worker/caregiver to help look after an adult female family member with developmental disability/Autism. 1 to 2 weekends per month starting on Friday afternoon/evening and finishing on Sunday afternoon/evening. QUALIFICATIONS: - Current CPR/basic life support certification - MANDATORY - Valid Ontario driver's license with a clean driving record - MANDATORY - Vulnerable Adults Police Background Clearance - MANDATORY - Valid passport for local and international travel - MANDATORY - Comfortable being in the water - MANDATORY - Minimum 2 years of personal support worker experience with some work/experience working with adults with intellectual disability/dementia preferred - Applicant needs to be physically active i.e. able to take the client out for walks, swimming, activities in the community - Applicant needs to enjoy teaching and interacting with client - Applicant needs to be comfortable around dogs RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: - Assistance with activities of daily living e.g. toileting, clothing, AM care/oral care, personal hygiene, grooming, feeding and ambulating i.e. need to hold her hands when walking outside the home - Transporting individual to various programs and activities in the community - Participate with the individual in various activities e.g. Zumba, swimming etc. - Cooking meals for the individual as and when required - General housekeeping tasks ONLY INTERESTED AND QUALIFIED APPLICANTS APPLY
