LOCATION: Multiple Private Residences REPORTING TO: Executive and Personal Assistant to President/Chairman TYPE: 24 – 30 hours per week, flexible between Monday and Friday (some weekends may be necessary). RESPONSIBILITIES: The Housecleaner / Cook will be preparing meals, which will include regular meals and preparation for future use meals, and as well be responsible for day-to-day housekeeping ensuring residences are maintained at a high standard of cleanliness at all times. The incumbent will be expected to work effectively and efficiently in an individual capacity. They will have to show flexibility as the schedule of work may change dependent on weekly needs and time of year. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Menu and food preparation, including clean-up of facility after use and garbage disposal; • Create customized meal plan based on preferences and dietary needs; • Shopping for household groceries and supplies to keep stocks current; • Complete cleaning, organization and maintaining cleanliness of the pantries and kitchen as a whole; • Completing laundry and dry-cleaning; • Deep cleaning of kitchen and appliances as required; • Dusting and washing the surfaces of rooms; • Vacuum, sweep, mop and scrub floors, and spot check and clean rugs and draperies as needed; • Washing inside and outside of household windows, as requested; • Polish silver/copper/brass accessories, flatware, utensils and household fixtures; • Make beds and change bed linens when required; • Tidy bedrooms and bathrooms ensuring garbage is emptied as needed; • Wash, iron, steam, fold clothing, linen and any other items as required; • Run errands as required (i.e. drop off and pick up of items); • High attention to detail and efficiency while conducting all household duties; and • All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To meet the challenges of this role, the ideal candidate must be energetic, and have excellent problem-solving skills. Other requirements include: • Ability to follow instructions diligently in a respectful and professional manner; • Possess strict confidentiality; • Experience with simple sewing considered an asset; • Able to work weekends, evenings and special projects, when required; • Trustworthy and ethical in character and personality; • Superb attention to detail; • Prior experience in food preparation and housekeeping; • Possession of reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license; • The ability to provide a self-starting and organized approach to daily tasks; • Good verbal and written communication skills; • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills in relation to anticipating food service needs; • Ability to be flexible and to adapt to change; and • Positive can-do attitude is essential.
