Mornings KANATA - Must Have Experience - ALL YEAR ROUND Part Time Casual Hours NEED TO COVER FOLLOWING... CHRISTMAS & EXTRA DATES HOLIDAY SEASON, MOVING FORWARD THROUGHOUT YEAR REQUIRED TO COVER STATUTORY HOLIDAYS, COVER other CAREGIVER VACATION DAYS and ANY SICK DAYS OFF, PLUS DEFINATELY COVER Some EXTRA Sundays every month (minimum of 2). Shifts vary each month. PART TIME CASUAL BASIS - 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM ONLY. ** DATES during HOLIDAYS - Holiday Shifts required are mornings December 24, 25, 29, 31 and New Yrs Day January 1. 2019. (As mentioned also some additional Sundays etc.) PLEASE READ BELOW *** MOST IMPORTANT - Require really lovely inside and out person who is extremely helpful/kind. We are looking for that VERY SPECIAL person who is compassionate, gentle, kind always, patient and "hands on and very helpful." This is very important. NOT FORCEFUL. NEVER RUSHING ... only GENTLY GUIDING MOM through her morning. Someone with lovely character who can listen and at same time have somewhat uplifting and pleasant nature and who will also engage in conversation with Mom. Not just do work. If you respond to this...please tell us about yourself, your availability, dependability etc... Looking for a genuine person with good heart who will treat Mom well emotionally, with kindness always, as well as help her physically.Who will listen to her and her needs (and not treat her like a child / and not be like her teacher). But rather very kind patient and gentle and respectful, as she is a grown woman. Doing your best to keep Mom safe and will take care of duties BUT also open and compassionate and someone who develops genuine caring for those they are caring for. RELIABILITY is a must. She means alot to us :) So a person who grows to care for the person they are helping is important. A Caregiver who truly likes making a positive difference in someones life. * Hours are Daytime ...9:30 am - 1:00 pm afternoon (on occasion 9:30 am-12:30 pm may be possible). * MUST READ / WRITE ENGLISH VERY WELL and can be talked to by text on phone on occasion, when caring for Mom. * Following a list / details is important ****DUTIES - BUT NOT LIMITED TO... * Making breakfast daily (simple type) * Daily Light Housekeeping (dishes, laundry, tidying up, restocking supplies / apartment, writing shopping list with Mom etc...) * Washing her compression hosing by hand and rinsing out well. * Getting things for Mom as needed - Overall help * Helping Mom securely up and down and walking. Keeping her safe *When Mom washes up - ask how to help if she will allow. * Doing exercises with Mom when required (making sure you are around her - keeping her stable while doing them * Helping her by going through apartment with her and grabbing / preparing towels and clothes ready for baths so all is set for baths. Grabbing the ones she wants. * Cool bags on shoulders and knees for 12 mins AND warm bag on neck fpr about 12-15 mins (each warm or cold bag wrapped in a pillowcase first). * Occasional bathing (EXTREMELY RARE - but not impossible) - keeping her safe and helping her stability to stay safe * Other Regular caregiving / psw duties as required * Someone who can and will Notice when something may need doing, even if not on list and ask us about it.. * A person who will do their best to make sure Mom is good as possible and set up with what you think she may need, before leaving for day. * May require occasional errands. *IF YOU HAVE SKYPE OR FACETIME for initial chat will be preferred. If all goes well would follow with meeting :) REQUIREMENTS : **Have a police check and / or vulnerable person check ** Good solid references (past caregiving / psw work but also any organizations or other types of credible references). ** Resume ** Must have good experience working with seniors / elderly * Prefer PSW but not a must ** Prefer drivers license and car BUT not a must Thank you
