Looking for a friendly full-time live-in caregiver to care for female patient with MS. Duties include, but are not limited to: personal care and hygiene, exercise, meal preparation, basic cleaning and driving to and from appointments and activities. Individual will have personal space in the basement of our house (on an acreage in southern Alberta - near Lethbridge). They will have access to their own bathroom and fridge. Individual must be cheerful and patient, and able to do heavy lifting. •Requirements o High school degree or equivalent o Health Care Aid Certificate o Driver’s license o Speak English well o Friendly, patient and personable o Criminal record check •Responsibilities o Provide patient with assistance as needed, including helping with showering and other personal hygiene activities o Assist patient with certain physical activities such as getting into or out of bed and dressing. o Assist with daily exercise o Perform agreed-upon household duties, including running errands, light cleaning, meal preparation and laundry o Drive client to and from appointments; assist with grocery shopping o Assist as needed if patient falls (using lift) o Assist with toileting (as needed) both during the day and at night (not often) o Be able/willing to keep yourself occupied when not needed o Be able to work under pressure
