We're looking for a part time care worker for our son who is disabled. He is currently in school, and we're looking for occasional shifts during the week days (after school or evenings), along with a regular shift on the weekends. We're looking for 5 to 12 hours per week during the school year and we're flexible on the scheduling. More hours are available during the summer. Hourly rate, $22/hr. He is 19, but still very boyish in size and appearance. He has cognitive delay, a hearing impairment, and a seizure disorder, about 3 or 4 per month. He likes to spend most of his time independently on the computer, but because of the possibility of a seizure we need to keep a close eye on him. He does use a wheel chair or walker outside the house, but inside he walks independently. He does need some assistance for personal care. Our home is in the Alta Vista area, very close to CHEO. During the summer months we spend a lot of time at our cottage (more of a modern summer home), and our son loves to go tubing. Care worker availability to spend time with us at the cottage would be a benefit.
