Nanny job description: Looking for a part-time, live out (20-30 hours) nanny who will be a nurturing, fun and reliable companion to a three-year-old boy. Who: - Child: o Age: 3 o Gender: Male o Interests: all sports (especially hockey and swimming), Lego, Playmobile, and Sesame Street - Dad: self-employed - Mom: master’s student at UBC - Grandma & Grandpa live close by and are very involved in our son’s life When: - Start Date: March 2019 - Must be flexible to time changes - Typical mornings: o Monday – Friday: 9:30 am – 1 pm o one or both of us are around until noon and love having our son around in the morning but need someone to be able to help out and jump in when we have work that we need to attend to - Afternoons/Evenings: o Two times / week 3:45 pm – 9:45 pm he needs someone to pick up from Montessori and care for him in the evening – nanny responsibility but grandparents will help o In the afternoon, our son attends Montessori up the road for 3 hours o Three times/ week mom picks him up Where: - Vancouver, BC (Kits) - May require short travel 1 – 2 times/ year to vacation destinations What is Required: - Qualities: o Fun and active for our son o Flexible and reliable for mom and dad - Major Responsibilities o Create a fun, stimulating, nurturing, and safe environment for the children o Engage in both active and creative play with the child, both indoors and outdoors o Keep a schedule and enroll child in local activities at local community centers o Drive the children to and from activities o Plan and lead educational activities, including reading, with the children o Supervise the children’s activities at all times o Plan and prepare healthy meals for child o Perform housework related to child care, including washing the children’s clothes, cleaning up after meals, and tidying play areas o Place the children down for naps and bedtime o Bathe the children before bed o Teach the children good social manners o Plan and lead educational activities, including reading, with the children o Discipline the children, when necessary o Administer medicine to the children - Qualifications o Experience caring for children o Training in early childhood education preferred o First aid training and child and infant CPR o Driver’s license, auto insurance, and safe driving history o Authorization to work in Canada o English proficiency o Reliable, honest, and trustworthy o Physical ability to care for a young child o Ability to plan, organize, and multitask with minimal supervision How Much: - Please inquire for details at: ***@***
