Work on rotation half time per month. My mother is fairly self sufficient but needs 24 a day supervision in case she needs assistance. Professional Health Authority has evaluated the position as a 4.4 hour day of real work. The rest is on "standby" as a companion and someone on site ready to help. The real "work" consists of assisting showering, grooming, bladder and bowel management at times, ensuring the lady has nutritious food and takes her medicines. Assisting with driving her to doctors appointments, social outings in the community, dressing, laundry, keeping the space safe, tiny and healthy. That’s what you are getting paid for. Your daily salary starts at $125 per day ($875 per week). This has to fit your lifestyle and you are semi-retired or looking for a totally different way to live. Take on as many weeks as you want. Start with one week and see if this is a good fit with people, space and your lifestyle. The schedule is wide open and if you have experience taking care of a loved one as they aged, I'm really interested in talking to you. Ideally you would be able to understand French, have a driver's license and a vehicle but if you are a great candidates on other fronts, I'm sure we can make it work.
