I am looking for a retired man or woman with nurturing skills and preferably some caregiver experience to help us look after an 91 year old gentleman with some dementia but otherwise healthy constitution. Some pill dispensing is required, cooking light meals, helping with exercise program, Dr.visits, putting on compression stockings, companionship and light housekeeping. It is imperative that this individual is not looking for a full time position and has a valid drivers license and is capable of keeping the clients environment clean. Flexibility in hours and days is a must as well as willingness to cover for other staff when sick or on holidays. This client is a sweet but stubborn senior who is capable of being charmed into doing what is required as long as he is persuaded with kindness and firmness. He has a lovely sense of humor and loves company. He likes playing simple card games or board games. Enjoys being taken to the river to watch dogs and birds. He has had a difficult childhood and has a tendency to be depressed but is easily led elsewhere with conversation, tv and music.
