Position Description The Executive Cook/Housekeeper will work in a beautiful and spacious home in the stunning area of Point Grey, just 1 block from the beach. You will be given the keys to your very own laneway home which has just been built with top of the line fixtures, appliances and finishes (suitable for one individual). I am living on my own, and the busy owner of a long established manufacturing company, and travel extensively around the world for work and pleasure. I would appreciate someone who not only takes care of the day to day chores, but is also computer savvy and can assist me with some simple clerical work in my home office. This is a wonderful opportunity for a mature, responsible, and trustworthy individual who is looking for a long-term work relationship. I require someone who is topnotch, polished, and will represent me and my home in a very competent, professional manner. Cooking requirements: You will have attended a culinary college, have a number of years of experience, and be able to create, interesting, and nutritious meals. Occasionally you will be responsible for attending to small gatherings and treating my guests to a gourmet meal experience. This will be a great opportunity for you to use your artistic creative flair from time to time. • Meal Preparation and service (average 1-2 meals a day for one person) • Plan menus, estimate food requirements and costs • Grocery shopping and household errands • Receiving, cooking and serving guests • Plan /direct special events Housekeeping duties: You will be responsible for the upkeep of my home while I’m in town and away. While away, the need to clean is less but it is expected that things are kept in order at all times. Maintaining household security is of the utmost importance. • Ironing clothes and sheets • Laundry (washing, drying clothing and household items) • Rotate seasonal clothing in closets • Keeping the household supplies fully stocked • Bed making and linen changing • Vacuum, sweeping and moping entire home • Cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen and bathrooms • Maintaining outdoor decks Requirements • Driver’s License mandatory. It is preferred you have your own vehicle but not mandatory. • 3+ years’ experience cleaning in a private home setting • 3+ years’ culinary experience • Flexibility to handle a varied workload • Previous experience hosting dinner parties • Computer Skills **Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
