Job Description: - Supervise and care for children at the employer's residence - Bath, dress and feed the child - Oversee child's activities, such as meals, rest periods, as instructed by the employer - Instruct child in personal hygiene and social development - Tend to the emotional well-being of children - Discipline child according to the methods requested by the parents - Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings to provide amusement and exercise - Plan, prepare and serve meals for children and may perform light housekeeping duties - Take the child to and from school - Maintain a healthy environment at home - Observe the child and prepare reports for home care - May be required to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding the child. Wage : $16 per hour in accordance with labour/employment standards, after 40 hours of work exceeds per week, the employer shall pay $24 per hour as overtime pay. Education : Completion of secondary school, childcare certification or equivalent experience. Able to work without being supervised. - Positive attitude towards work.Flexible in every aspect of children. - Child-care or household management experience may be required. - The child-care provider may require completion of a training program in child care or any related field. Abilities: - Reading the text, numeracy, good communication, problem-solving Language: - Must be able to speak, read in English fluently. Work Experience/s: - 2 years to less than 3 years of full time paid work experience as a caregiver or in related field or occupation within the last three years; OR 6 months of In-class training for Caregiver course. Work Location: Employer's Home (Port Coquitlam, Citadel area) Terms of Employment: - Regular, full-time, permanent, 2 years contract and a possibility to renew 32-40hrs/week, - 2 days off per week, work hours and days may vary depending on the Employer's work schedule. - Must be flexible on working schedules - Pays vacation (10 days per year) and statutory holidays - Works 5 days a week and 2 days off Care is for : One 3-year-old and one 9-year-old child Start Date: Jan.01, 2020 Accommodation : Optional accommodation at no charge on a live-in basis.
