Please note: No Sponsorship applicants. Looking for caring full-time CAREGIVER Thursday to Sunday from 8:00 to 4:00/ You will be looking after my mother and my father in their own home. They are both fully capable in a lot of ways but need assistance in certain areas. My mother only needs assistance to get out of bed (hospital bed), guide her to the bathroom and kitchen for dinner and then back to her room. Most of the times she is in bed. My father requires the same kind of assistance and a close eye, as he is more active but slightly impaired. We have home support for my mom on a daily basis every morning and evening (6:00pm). My father will require the same kind of assistance to and from his room to the bathroom/kitchen for dinner and sometimes late night snack in the kitchen. They are both capable of feeding themselves and are not assisted by any medical devices for their daily well being other than oral medications. They both stay in separate rooms and have their own bathrooms which is located on the upper floor of their home. Their daughter lives full-time downstairs, when she is not at work. My parents are both very loving and I am just wanting to have someone stay with them. I will be around to answer any question during the weekday in the evenings, but not always. I expect you to be comfortable taking out their evening meals, which will be prepared and dropped off by their children. The do not have any dietary requirements and are comfortable to eat whatever is served. You will need to warm their dinners, give them dessert and their medications every evening. I have been taking care of them with the assistance of other caregivers, but they require around the clock attention. They are not very active, so leaving the house will not be required. This is how your shift will look: 4:00 when you arrive, they will be in bed and maybe require one visit to the bathroom bathroom. 5:00 -5:30 Tidy up of the bathroom/living area/kitchen. Prep for their dinner, make tea, and set . 6:00: Home support will come for grandma and will bring her to the kitchen. While they are doing this, get grandpa up/visit to bathroom, if needed and then to dinner . 6:00-6:15: Dinner, dessert and medications. 6:15 - 6:20: Take grandpa to the bathroom so he can brush his teeth and wash up before he goes to bed. He is capable of doing this himself, with a little assistance. He is not very steady, so you have to follow him with his walker at all times. Grandma will wait till you are done with grandpa). 6:20-6:30: Take grandma to bed, same grooming will be done by her or you might need to help. She might watch some TV until 7:30-8:00. Get her tucked in and comfortable for the night. She will again wake up only once between 10:30-11:00 for one more bathroom visit. While grandma is watching TV you can wash dishes and clean the kitchen. Sweeping kitchen floor if needed. Cleaning: Both bathrooms after they are done, just general cleanup of keeping counters, toilet, sink and garbage empty/clean/disinfectant. General tidiness of living room area/kitchen/bathroom and spare room. Laundry is to be collected Mon & Wed or Thur. This is up to you to do and the daugher will help when ever possible. You will be required to fold and put the clothes away. Take inventory of any groceries that we need and give list to their daughter...toilet paper, paper towel, napkins, honey, soaps....etc. Most of the supplies will be downstairs already. Grandpa will wake up during the evening maybe twice to visit the bathroom or he might want a light snack. You will have one or two days training working with the previous caregiver, so you are shown how things are done. This will be from 8:00 to 4:00 on both days. You will start on Sept 17th (Tue & Wed - training). The following week will be 4 days only. This is your job. I expect and would appreciate someone who is not on their cell phone at all times!
