Full Time Nanny for Well Behaved 2 and 4 Year Old Boys in Meadows

CP
Active:

Why is this a sweet gig? We are the friendly Pitts from Meadows, with a 4 year old and 2 year old boy, and during this 8 hour per day, Monday to Friday job, they both nap for 2 hours at the same time! They eat very well – no fancy recipes, just chop them up some fruits a veg and they’re happy campers. Bodhi, our 4 year is in preschool from 9-12 every day during the school year, AND most weeks he spends an entire day at his grandparent’s house. We’re pretty structured around here. Your typical day would start at 830am and look like this. 835am – 4YO dropped off at preschool by Mom (maybe sometimes by you), playtime with 2YO 1145am – pick up 4YO from preschool (a 5min drive, so yes, you need a driver’s licence, we have a truck you can use) 12pm – lunch for boys 1pm-3pm – naps for both 330pm-430pm – play, dinner 430pm – Dad comes home, end of nanny’s day Responsibilities Care for the kids, keep them safe (of course) Make meals and clean up kitchen after meals. Kids are vegetarian/vegan, but don’t let this scare you. They literally just eat chopped fresh fruit, veg, canned beans, bread. Some light meal making for them. I have simple, quick recipes ready. Keeping the floors clean after their meals and tracking dirt in/out of the house. Kids’ laundry Diapers for the 2 year old, 4YO is potty trained To/from preschool safely Play and have fun with the kids – going to the park, play in our big, private backyard, walks, crafts, songs, books. We are screen-free, so the kids do not watch TV or play with phones/tablets/computers Light clean up after kids, but not much. About You Childcare experience Able to provide contact info for at least 2 professional references Able to provide a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check Fluent conversational English You love kids! Punctual, dependable Flexible - Dad might be a tiny bit late a couple times a month. Usually just 10 min. Once in a while - could be an hour, but very rare. Organized and efficient so that meals are done and kitchen clean when Mom/Dad get home Caring and compassionate Discipline with a kind but firm approach Open to feedback about how to work with our kids Willing to stay for at least 1 year with our family We don’t have a landline, so ideally you have your own cell phone Benefits $18-22/hr, depending on education and experience You’re an employee! And we will abide by BC Employment Standards Act Working in a clean, affluent environment Kids are very well behaved Use of a vehicle to take the kids on outings The routine is well-ironed and simple to run More about Us We’re both 36 years old, have been together for 13 years and live in the home we renovated ourselves over the last 9 years. Dad owns a successful mechanical contracting company out of Coquitlam and mom has a career in Human Resources and works for a restaurant chain downtown. When Mom returned to work after her first mat leave, she found it too overwhelming to work full time and look after the family. So, instead of putting both kids in daycare, it would be better for us to have a nanny who can feed the kids and clean up the kitchen. 4YO is very smart (as said by anyone who knows him – teachers from daycare and preschool). He can have full conversations in English, and has a great memory, loves to learn, and loves to read books and is starting to read. Obsessed with construction. Analytical, happy, very well behaved. potty-trained. Will play by himself for long periods of time. Talks a lot, asks a lot of questions. 2YO is passionate and loving. His favorite activities are reading, going for walks, and stealing his brother’s toys. He eats and sleeps very well (for both kids - once you put them down for a nap, you walk away and they don’t make a peep). We run a loosely-montessori style household, treat the kids with utmost respect, like structure, and want our kids to be happy, healthy and polite. We’ve been running things based on what’s worked well for us but are very open to suggestions on how to improve.
