First of all, no sponsorships please. We are seeking a Filipina caregiver who speaks Tagalog and who is very caring, honest, trustworthy, reliable, competent and very healthy (di sakitin at di laging nagsi sick call). We are looking for someone with patience and compassion and who is able to work well independently. We thank you in advance for your interest, but, only those whose qualifications meet what we are looking for will be contacted for an interview. Mom is diabetic and is not very mobile, but is still able to stand with assistance. She has difficulty walking, and therefore we have a walker that we use to take her from the kitchen to her washroom or bedroom or vice versa. Mom doesn't speak anymore, but will sometimes copy you if prompted. She is not violent. The work consists of: Checking her blood sugar by pricking her finger first thing in the morning. Then getting Mom out of bed and to her washroom to change her clothes, which is usually wet. Personal care like sponge bath, peri care, dressing her, brushing her teeth, brushing her hair, etc. before taking her to the kitchen for her breakfast. Mom's hair is washed at least twice a week. Feeding her breakfast along with giving her meds and vitamins and making sure she drinks enough water and fluids (like coffee or almond milk). Toileting break, then massaging her legs, talking to her, telling her stories, singing. Mom used to sing and enjoys listening/watching shows that have singing/dancing. We have TFC, so watching Showtime or ASAP, etc seems enjoyable for her. Feeding her lunch and more vitamins. Then before putting her back in bed for a nap, toileting again, plus cleaning her mouth, dentures, before putting her in bed. Usually mom's back in bed by about 3pm. While she's napping, wash her dishes, tidy up the washroom, kitchen. Then wait for one of the family members to come home usually by about 4 or 430. Mom's breakfast and lunch is usually prepared already...it will just have to be reheated in the microwave.
