Private (No Agencies) PSW F/T, Live-in Shift: Sunday Evening to Friday Evening with 2 days off. Looking for experienced Caregiver willing to make a long-term commitment to provide care to my 88 years old Mother (widowed). She has Dementia (Mild-Moderate), Diabetes, Arthritis Pain and High Blood Pressure (controlled). I'm looking for someone that is kind, flexible, energetic, outgoing and motivating. This position is full time (5 days, all day including overnight), live in job to provide assistance required and manage household (small one level bungalow house). Caregiver duties and responsibilities: • Help to take prescribed medication that are prepared by pharmacy, massage body aches with joint creams to relieve discomfort from arthritis. • She can walk on own with the assistance of a walker indoors and ause of wheelchair for longer distances. Close guidance close is needed to ensure safety. • Assist with personal care and hygiene (bathing and toileting assistance is required). • Help with physical therapy exercises and come up with hobbies and activities of interest. • Plan and prepare all meals. • Control home shopping inventory levels for groceries, medication and other supplies. no need to run errands just create weekly lists and communicate on items required. • Perform light housekeeping duties such as dishes, mop, sweep, laundry, garbage, etc. to keep home clean and orderly for the two of you. • Report any unusual incidents and record daily log sheets of activities, meals and medical information. Caregiver skills and qualifications: • Empathy and the ability to care for the client's social, emotional, physical and mental health. • Proficient with the proper handling of medications, can monitor sugar level, blood pressue and oxygen. • Ability to multi-task, be flexible and organized. • Ability to remain calm and handle any emergencies that may arise. • Exceptionally patient, good at listening communication and responding to others' needs. • Proficient in some domestic chores such as preparing meals and cleaning. Caregiver salary: $2200 gross (approx. $1708 net after taxes) for two weeks, paid bi-weekly by direct deposit (reported income -not cash). Wages will vary, based on the amount of experience, special training/qualifications required i.e. Alzheimer disease and diabetes. No agencies. Caregiver education and training requirements: • Proven experience as a PSW/Caregiver, min 1 years’ experience. • Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR). • Knowledge of housekeeping and cooking-attention to dietary constraints. • Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards. • Physical endurance. • Respectful, compassionate, playful with a sense of humor & positive energy. • Good time management skills, punctual with excellent attendance record. • Good communication (english), independant and has interpersonal skills. • Strong ethics (prefer knowledge of Italian culture, not mandatory).
