We are looking for a Childcare Worker to take care of our 3 year old daughter. Our little girl has Autism, which means she is learning to communicate using signs, picture symbols, and some words. She has a therapy team that work with all of us to support her learning and teach us ways to communicate with her that are fun and engaging. She is very energetic and loves to play with her toys, go for long walks, go swimming, explore the parks nearby and play in the backyard. It would be great if our Childcare Worker is comfortable swimming, it is one of our daughter’s favourite activities! Our Childcare Worker needs to have energy to play and go for walks and be willing to learn from her therapy team about ways to communicate and manage behaviors. The main role is to take care of our daughter; she can have challenging behaviors and requires patience and caring to support her. We can be flexible with full time and part time hours but require someone who is consistent, reliable and willing to commit to a year. We live in South Surrey, in walking distance to the bus stops, shops, parks and swimming pool. We have a family vehicle that can also be shared if our Childcare Worker has a driver’s license. Hours: Monday – Friday, flexible with either full or part time Location: South Surrey Wage: We are willing to pay up to $30/hour for someone with experience with children with Autism who requires minimal training. For those candidates with limited experience, the rate will be $25/hour. We expect a one year commitment. We prefer a Childcare Worker who is able to drive and comfortable swimming at the community swimming pool, however neither is a requirement. This position is available immediately.
