Elderly caregiver needed for job opening- At home, live-in weekend shift (Friday 6PM - Sunday 6PM). I'm looking for a caregiver to provide care to my Mother 88 years old, Italian, very caring and well mannered, that treats all like family. her medical conditions are as follows; mild Dementia, Diabetes, Arthritis, and High Blood Pressure. * main duties; companionship, toileting, med reminders, and meal preparation. Caregiver responsibilities: Reminder to take prescribed medication. Assist with mobility/walker around the house (or outside if requested). Assist with personal care and hygiene (bathing and toileting). Overnight care as needed Plan and prepare meals. Perform light housekeeping duties (dishes, laundry, sweep, mop garbage disposal). Be a pleasant, motivating, and supportive companion. Report any unusual incidents, and record daily log (daily meals, activities and medical info, etc. ). *Ability to read, speak and write English Caregiver skills and qualifications: Empathy and the ability to care for the client's social, emotional, physical, and mental health. Proficient with the proper handling of medications. Ability to multi-task, be flexible and organized. Ability to remain calm and handle any emergencies that may arise. Exceptionally patient, good at listening, communicating, and responding to needs. Trained in specialized areas of care, Dementia/Alzheimer's disease and Diabetes. Caregiver Salary: Negotiable - Flat rate of $400 cash for shift coverage from Friday 6 PM until Sunday 6 PM (flexible with start/depart time). Caregiver education and training requirements: Proven experience as a caregiver, min 1-year. Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR). Knowledge of housekeeping chores and cooking with attention to dietary constraints. Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards. Strong ethics (preferably but not mandatory - knowledge of Italian language and/or culture). Physical endurance. Only candidates who are selected will be contacted.
