Family in Kerrisdale looking for a professional and experienced House Manager to keep the day-to-day operations of our home running smoothly. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity. Days of work are typically Monday to Friday however applicants should be flexible with schedules and accommodate for occasional weekend work and travel weekdays particularly in summer.

Key household responsibilities include but are not limited to: KITCHEN / MEAL PREPARATION Plan meals taking dietary requirements and personal preferences into account Prepare food and provide nutritious family style meals Shop for groceries and manage pantry and fridge Clean and put away dishes Clean kitchen including fridge, stove/oven as needed HOUSEHOLD MANAGEMENT & CLEANING Perform daily and weekly household cleaning duties (bathrooms, kitchen, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning, etc) Make beds and tidy rooms daily Manage laundry on a daily/weekly basis including; washing clothes, linens & towels, ironing, folding clothing and placing in closets; hand-washing delicate fabrics • Exterior cleaning and maintenance of all outdoor “living areas” including cleaning of patio furniture, sweeping of walkways, etc. Trash and recycling management Monitor and manage household inventory Schedule and execute larger cleaning projects on weekly, monthly or annual basis Perform minor household repairs/maintenance; scheduling and supervising any other household repairs/maintenance Maintenance of hot tub Assist with family and residence for household systems such as networks, AV and security. Household organizational projects such household manuals and systems; seasonal items • Water and care of indoor plants FAMILY SUPPORT • Running household & personal errands; occasionally driving child to/from activities/school/appointments (a car will be available for work duties) • Assisting in managing the household’s calendars for social, family and travel itineraries. • Coordinating and assisting with event planning and management (e.g. birthday or holiday parties) • Arranging appointments for personal and professional needs • Care for the family pet dog VEHICLE CARE • Clean vehicles: wash, vacuum the interior, light detailing • Ensure the automobiles are fueled and service checks coordinated CHILD CARE While child care is not a primary responsibility of this role, you will be interacting with our child on a regular basis and therefore will assist and role model by creating a positive and supportive environment and supporting us to maximize our quality time with our children. Occasional child care will be required to accommodate for parent’s work/social commitments or travel. WORK HOURS: Full-time and permanent. Ideally M-F from 11am-7pm with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends Some travel may be required within the lower mainland. For several weeks in the summer (mostly July) we will be at our lake house 75mins from the city and would like this individual to be there during those weeks. Once or twice a year, the parents travel without our child and would like this individual to stay overnight at that time to care for our child and maintain our routines.
 APPLICANT QUALITIES: A polished professional who is positive, self-motivated and energetic. A self-starter and quick-learner who can independently prioritize and manage your own time. Excellent planning and organizational skills as well as strong problem solving abilities to figure out how to get things done. Excellent time management, punctuality, multi-tasking and attention to detail with follow through from start to finish. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Good computer literacy Must have a sense and respect of boundaries, exercise diplomacy and discretion and maintain privacy and confidentiality at all times. Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend; Ability to lift, push and pull required load (up to approximately 35 lbs) Must be kind and comfortable with children and pets. Flexible and accommodating as required. Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record. Must be eligible to work in Canada. COMPENSATION Competitive salary with bonuses for performance; salary dependent on experience and previous employment. Medical Services Plan 2 weeks paid vacation and increasing annually. In addition, time-off is giving in lieu of overtime hours (e.g. if overnight stays are required when parents are out of town or if overtime hours are required, additional vacation time is giving in lieu - usually at Christmas, March break or in August)
