We are a family looking for an engaged and kind caregiver for our 79-year-old mother with Parkinson and Dementia, who treats her with dignity.
Care would include the following:
Administering medication
Personal hygiene including showers and dressing
Taking her for daily walks and exercises
Engaging her in interactive activities
Providing emotional, social and psychological support to client and family
Household assistance which would include meal assistance or cooking, and light clean-up
Skills required:
Trained in specialized care in the areas of Dementia and Parkinson
Must be kind and caring in nature
Must be dependable and committed
Must be a good communicator who is willing to listen to stories and engage in conversation. And is able to report to family any concerns regarding clients moods and health
Must have experience in caring for elderly
Must be able to stay calm and handle any emergency that may arise efficiently
Able to read, write and speak English well (any knowledge of Italian language and culture is an asset)
Cooking skills considered an asset
Additional Requirements:
Must adhere to health and safety standards, including all COVID protocol necessary to minimize risk to client and self (testing prior to starting is required)
Complete a criminal background check, a vulnerable sector check, as well as professional and personal references;
Possess a valid driver's license and a vehicle with valid auto insurance (asset); and Personal Support Worker (PSW) certification is an asset, but not essential

Schedule: Friday 11- 4pm, Saturday 2-8pm, Sunday 10am-3pm , Monday 11-4
