Become a live-in residential service provider to youth struggling with a range of issues ranging from mental health (FASD, ADHD, etc), behavioral issues, contact with the law enforcement, anger, and more. Our resource is located in the Sullivan Station area in Surrey. You would be sharing a 2 bedroom unit with one youth (age 10-19) and would essentially be running the household while helping the youth with their daily struggles. Rent, cable, internet, and grocery allowance included, plus a fair tax-free stipend on top of it. This can be a very demanding, yet very rewarding position at the same time. No two days are the same. Some days are nice and easy, others can be a rollercoaster. Qualifications: 1. Non-judgmental attitude in the face of a variety of behaviors. 2. Must not discriminate in terms of culture, religion, race, creed, sexuality, ability, or physical appearance. 3. Practical and theoretical knowledge of adolescent development, youth issues, and community resources. 4. Ability to perform well under pressure and handle crisis situations and conflict. 5. Ability to maintain strong personal boundaries with the youth and fellow staff members. 6. Sound verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relay important information as needed. 7. Ability to fill out the paperwork correctly and the ability to meet deadlines. 8. Valid standard first aid (it's a one day course, you can get it just before you start the job) 9. Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle is a huge bonus. 10. Two pieces of valid government-issued ID would be required to obtain clearance. 11. Must be available to live in.
