Looking for a FULL-TIME , LIVE-IN , 24/7 experienced caregiver for a dementia patient. He is entering the more severe stage of the disease. Given the job description and demands, the candidate must be willing and able to move into the home and fully commit to the care of one individual. The ideal candidate would be unattached, with the ability to commit to such a job description. The position would be ideal for someone who is a quiet homebody, with experience working with dementia patients, and maybe wanting to avoid the rigors of long shifts or the stress of dealing with multiple patients. Current duties include preparing meals and making sure patient is properly nourished (good cooking skills an asset), assistance with showering and brushing teeth, assistance with dressing, proper administration of oral medication, watching for episodes of incontinence and thorough and properly cleaning after incidents, keeping home tidy, and laundry. Client has very few medical appointments , but own vehicle and ability to take client , would be an asset.
