I am looking for a nanny for my one year old son. We are a family of 3 (father, mother, and baby) and live in the Thornhill area (Bayview and Steeles). Both I and my husband will be working from home and will need someone to look after my son while we work during the day. My mother comes over every morning to look after him, so the working hours will be starting at 12:30 noon to around 7:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with one day every other weekend. The qualities I am looking for in a nanny are caring, patient, honest, hardworking, responsible and clean. Duties include looking after the baby, housekeeping (daily chores: vacuuming, cleaning up after meals, dusting and tidying up; weekly: mopping and possibly folding laundry), and some pet care (feeding the dogs). Being able to cook is a bonus. Our ideal is for a live-in position but we will consider live-out nannies to the right person (must have access to a car). For live-ins, we have a large private furnished room in the basement with a large window and closet. We also have a separate kitchen in the basement available so that our nanny can have her own personal space. The nanny will have a bathroom in the basement to be shared with one other person. We are willing to sponsor only candidates already in Canada. Lastly, I am looking for someone who will work with us for a number of years. If the candidate is right, I would love for them to stay at least 3-5 years, if not many more years than that.
