Seeking qualified caring PSW/companion for our 72 year old Mother in Woodbridge/Vaughan area who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease. She is physically able and very mobile. Requires assistance with healthy meal preparation, maintaining food/pantry items, light housekeeping, going on walks (enjoys walking), remaining engaged in activities. Is well educated, enjoys music and art, likes to read newspaper and story telling/reminiscing. Overall, we are looking for a clear communicator, who is well organized, punctual, and able to provide clear, kind direction understanding the abilities of someone in mid stage Alzheimer's. We are looking to fill a full time Monday-Friday schedule 10am - 6pm so will be considering rotation with more than 1 Carer so flexible with availability. We need help with managing household, organizing fridge/pantry/food preparation a must (healthy, Mediterranean/European diet); overseeing medication (1x/day), helping maintain a clean and tidy household, including organizing laundry and garbae/recycling/compost, whatever needs to be maintained to keep the house running smoothly; coordinating shopping/grocery list with family. Our preference is for a more mature Carer (40+years old) with a minimum of 5+ years in elder care, specific to Alzheimer's Disease/Dementia Care. Must drive and/or own transportation is of benefit as direct bus line is not possible to location. Reliability and ability to clearly communicate with client and family is a must. Family will NOT demand covid testing or vaccination. These are medical choices to be made solely and privately by the caregiver. As well, our personal medical choices will not be available for disclosure. Pay range $20-25/hr or weekly salary negotiable depending on hours.
