We are a split family of six, looking for a long-term nanny to care for our 4-, 7-, and 14-year-old children. We also have an independent 16-year-old, who requires little to no care except providing dinner. The children alternate between our homes on a 4-week schedule. If you’re a live-in nanny, you would live in one home permanently and commute daily to the other when the children are there. The two homes are approx. 10 minute drive apart. Hours: Dad is Mon-Fr 8:30-4:30, and mom’s schedule rotates, including day, afternoon, and evening shifts (no overnights) - both weekdays and weekends. Covid 19 Requirements: One of our children is at high risk for Covid 19 related complications, so we take the Public Health Orders very seriously. We are seeking someone who will be comfortable isolating to our family until the Covid 19 climate eases. Some exceptions are anticipated – for discussion during interview. Children’s schooling 4 year old requires stimulation and exposure to pre-school learning activities and content. 7 year old is currently distance learning at grade 2, and requires close and consistent help for approx. 4 hrs per day to complete daily school tasks. 14 year old is currently distance learning at grade 9 and requires occasional help, and regular motivation to stay on task. When Covid19 pandemic eases, you will be responsible for getting children to and from school. Transportation options to be discussed during interview. Cooking You will make lunch for the children, and prepare dinner most days – this might mean partially preparing food to reduce parents' cooking time, or it might mean fully preparing and cooking the meal and feeding the children. This will be meal and schedule-dependent. Housework Light housework such as tidying, laundry, sweeping, mopping, and dusting is required, as daily schedule with children permits. If parent has an unscheduled day off, deeper cleaning duties may be required in lieu of childcare – for discussion during interview. Holidays: 2 weeks paid holidays provided, with opportunity to bank additional time if desired. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule requests, but they must work with our family’s schedule. The greater notice you can provide, the more likely it is that we can meet your request. Sick Days: 5 paid sick days provided per year – this time can be used when you are too sick to fulfill your duties, or to attend medical/dental appointments.
