We own and operate Senior Helpers Mississauga (www.seniorhelpers.ca/mississauga). We have a team of Caregivers that provide in-home care to senior clients in Mississauga. WE DO NOT OFFER CASH JOBS - all of our PSWs are employees, paid via direct deposit payroll every 2nd Friday. We have been providing Companion Care to a couple in the Cawthra/Rathburn area for about a year. He is 83 and has Parkinson's, she is 77 and has dementia. They live on their own. They are an Indian couple (Bengali), lovely folks; his mind is sharp, her dementia is quite bad but she is the nicest lady ever – no anger, no outbursts, a loving wife. He has been in the hospital for the past 2 weeks; he had not been eating right, not taking meds properly, etc., so they admitted him to get his levels all back to normal. He may be coming home tomorrow (Friday, May 14th) or Saturday; he will have PSW visits through the LHIN, but they’ll also need supplemental PSW care through us. We aren’t sure of the schedule yet, it depends on what the LHIN offers them. We are looking for a flexible, caring, and compassionate PSW to join our team and to help make a difference in this couple's life. The gentleman will require assistance with hygiene, dressing, continence, etc., and our Caregiver will also help the couple with meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping/laundry, bedding changes, etc. We start our PSWs at $18 per hour, plus the 4 percent vacation pay.
