A bit about me and the job duties. I have a form of spinal muscular atrophy and while I cannot do most physical activities, I can direct my care verbally. In general, the dayshift responsibilities include: repositioning me, feeding me, giving medication, transferring with a mechanical lift (1-2 times/wk), assisted coughing, toileting, bathing, general housekeeping, and cooking. I enjoy experimenting with cooking and I am currently writing a cookbook. I spend most of the time on my computer, and currently, I stay in bed except for showering. I have lots of interests and have enjoyed having great relationships with my staff. Typically shifts are 12 hours. If you have a preference for 10-hour shifts, some flexibility can be accommodated. Currently available are Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and a partial Thursday shift, Dayshift- $21/hr. (7 am-7 pm) . If you do choose the live-in option, we will discuss adjusting due to accommodations.
