Our Mom is 85 (though she’ll tell you she’s 94!); physically fit; energetic; independent; and was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s three years ago. Five of her seven children live near her in Stouffville and have been supplementing hired part-time personal care of our Mom themselves. This situation, however, is no longer sustainable. Our Mom loves her house and its big yard, but she is getting more fearful. We would be so appreciative if she could be cared for by someone experienced with Alzheimer’s; who can channel our Mom’s energy and listen politely to her vivid stories; who can respect her medical background and her achievement of raising 7 children as well as assist her in daily living activities like food prep, laundry, and personal hygiene. This would be a full-time, live-in position. Salary negotiable.
