We have 2 young children (5 years old and 3 years) who have been in Montessori school since they were 18 months old. We are moving out of the province by the end of September so rather than putting them in school for a month we are looking to hire someone who can help watch them and teach them for half a day (9 am-1 pm), every day Monday to Friday. Ultimately we are looking for someone who can: * Not just care of our kids (5 and 3 yrs old), but actually teach them. You will be responsible for having 'lesson plans' and ensuring they are advancing accordingly for their age. Since they have both been full-time Montessori students since they were 18 months old... they are used to a learning environment and need to have their minds stimulated. As a result a background in Education (ideally ECE and Montessori background would be a bonus) We are more than happy to purchase resources as needed and are looking for someone who can help initiate both curriculum-based learning and explorative-based learning in and around the house as well as outside etc. in a somewhat planned / orderly way. (doesn't need to be Montessori based). Both my wife and I work from home (and are really easygoing) so we can be around but we'd like "school/learning time" to be just that. NOTE: this is a short-term position. We'd be looking at doing this for the month of September only.
