Senior Caregiver/Companion needed, Monday to Friday, to care for a fun and physically independent senior with dementia. We are in the Newton area of Surrey. We are looking for someone interested in becoming an integral part of our family team, on a long-term basis, starting mid-August 2021. You are: - in possession of a valid BC drivers license and clean driving record, your own safe and reliable car, and willingness to drive client to appointments and social activities in the Surrey and North Delta area. · Reliable, loving, energetic, social, adaptable, and organized · Patient; previous experience with individuals with dementia an asset but not required · Looking for a long-term working situation · A non-smoker - Willing to undergo a criminal record check - Due to the nature of this position, vaccination against Covid-19 is a condition of employment. Duties will include: - Companionship for an active senior with dementia, Monday to Friday beginning at 7:30 am, until approximately 4:30 pm - Working with family and friends to foster an enriching life experience - Reminders and support for ADLs (medication, self-care, scheduling) - Meal planning, grocery shopping, and preparation of meals including dinner - Planning and implementing activities with dependent - Driving dependent to medical appointments, social and recreational activities - Light housekeeping and laundry - Maintaining a record of expenditures Regular communication with employer Compensation: Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications of candidate. There is an expected 40 - 45 hour workweek. Overtime will be paid for time worked beyond 40 hours. Weekends and statutory holidays off 2 weeks paid vacation after one year of employment 5 paid sick days CPP, EI, and deductions made by the employer Flexible scheduling/reduced hours possible (at employees request) during school holidays
