Caregiver/PSW Job Description Live-In Caregiver CAREGIVER JOB DESCRIPTION Live-in caregiver opportunity is available to serve an amazing senior client in Orillia. With a mission to change the way the world ages, Home Care Assistance provides non-medical, in-home care. Live-in care differs from facility-based care in that the clients stay in their own homes with the assistance of caregivers like you. You get to work one-on-one with the client, enhancing his or her quality of life using our proprietary Balanced Care MethodTM, a holistic approach to care. At Home Care Assistance we are passionate about continuing education and development for our employees; we train our caregivers in the Balanced Care Method and other programs such as Cognitive Therapeutics, through our proprietary online training platform, Home Care Assistance University (CareAcadamy). More than simply assisting with personal care, transportation, medication reminders, and other activities of daily living, you will help your client live a happier, more independent life by facilitating enjoyable activities like exercise, mental stimulation, and hobbies. Clients and caregivers are matched based on skill level, personality traits, and preferences to support long-term relationships. You don’t actually live with the client, but spend a few agreed-upon nights in private sleeping quarters in his or her home. As a live-in caregiver, you can earn a full week of pay in just a few short days. Live-in positions offer consistent wages as you spend 3-5 nights per week (your choice) in a client’s home; the client provides private sleeping quarters. The family and our Care Team will work with you directly on supporting your client’s specific, around-the-clock needs. When you need time off, simply let our Care Team know and we will find another caregiver to fill your shift. A little about our clients’ current needs – • A 87-year-old female who is battling cancer.
