Salary: $28-$40+ Gross per hour and is based on experience. Guaranteed hours and salary. We are a working professional couple located in central Lynn Valley, North Vancouver. We are looking for an experienced superstar teacher/caregiver for our 15-month-old son. Our son showed early signs of Autism at 3-months-old. We immediately began private autism therapy and our son has made significant progress as a result. Although he was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at 12 months old, he would be considered “high-functioning” at this point due to all the therapy. The start date is flexible but ideally, we would like someone to start by October 15, 2021. We are both busy professionals who split our work hours between home and downtown, Vancouver. This is a child-focused position for our youngest. Our eldest, a 4-year-old girl, attends full-time junior kindergarten (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM). We are looking for someone who can attend home-based therapy sessions with him and implement the therapy with him throughout the day through play. He will also start daycare in North Vancouver, as of November 1st, two days per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Thus, we will need someone to drive him to/from daycare and attend daycare with him as his buddy! Our ideal candidate is eager to teach through interactive play, focus on his development, and be proactive in helping him achieve developmental milestones. We are more than happy to cover all training and education via a Behavioural Consultant, Speech and Language Pathologist, Physiotherapist, and Occupational Therapist once we find the ideal candidate. You will be working alongside the therapy team and you must be a team player who can carry out their treatment plans, as an extension of the team. An ideal candidate should be motivated, committed, eager to learn, creative, warm, and fun! We would need the candidate to occasionally cook lunch for our son and from time to time, prep family dinners (chop vegetable, put premade meals in the oven, etc). We use a cleaning company; however, the candidate will need to clean up after playing and meal/snacks. Driving is a requirement (mileage will be provided) and you must have your own reliable vehicle. We have a 6-year-old chocolate Labrador that attends doggy daycare during the day. No care is needed. We are fully vaccinated and taking Covid precautions seriously. We are looking for a candidate who does the same. We are really looking for someone that loves to teach and play, is extremely proactive with our son’s development, and is committed to our family and learning! We are looking for a long-term position with a minimum 1-year contract. From now until January 2022, the required working hours are from 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM Monday – Thursday, 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM every other Friday, and 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the alternating Friday. From January 2022 onwards, working hours are from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday to Friday.
