We are looking for a Live-in Caregiver to provide personal care and companionship to a frail 84-year-old woman with dementia. MAIN DUTIES • Provide care and companionship • Administer bedside and personal care such as aid in toileting, personal hygiene, and dressing and undressing • Plan and prepare meals and assist in feeding • May perform routine health-related duties such as assisting in the administration of medications and collecting specimens under the general direction of the health care provider • May perform light housekeeping duties including laundry, washing dishes and making beds. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION • Education: o Some secondary school education o College or other courses in home support o First aid certification o Completion of a training program in care of the elderly, care of persons with dementia and other disabilities, convalescent care or in a related field • Language: English required. Ability to speak Hungarian would be an asset • Experience: o At least 5 years’ experience taking care of seniors o Experience working with dementia patients required o Ability to maneuver a person weighting 120 lbs or 50 kg. • Other requirements: o Ability to treat seniors with care and compassion o Fully vaccinated o Driver’s license TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT • Competitive compensation based on experience: o Salary range between $3,000 to $4,000/mo depending on experience and qualifications o Accommodations include private bedroom and bathroom, shared kitchen and living space o Meals included • Full time • Location of employment: Private home in NW Calgary, AB To apply for this position, please submit resume to ***@*** (reference #LCG2021)
