Housekeeper/Nanny

KB
Active:

Do you love children, farm life, animals and nature. Then we may have the perfect job for you! We are looking for someone to join our family as a family member not just as a housekeeper/nanny. We live in Langley, BC on a 5 acre farm with lots of animals. Quiet street with amazing neighbours and close friends nearby. We are a bit remote we are 20 minutes away from transit by car. There are walking trails and nature parks nearby. We have three horses, two mini horses,2 outdoor cats, One very BIG Newfoundland dog who is our outdoor dog. We have two very old senior chihuahuas, two guinea pigs, a large African pixie frog and an African grey parrot. We have a very kind, caring and very loving daughter who is 8 years old, she loves crafts, playing outdoors, baking and playing games. Our son is 6 years old and is very active and energetic, he loves being outdoors, fishing, and exercising. We do not allow our children on any iPads, phones, computers, etc. They are only allowed TV in the morning 15 minutes and 15 minutes before bed. They know they're only allowed specific things they are allowed to watch. I am a full-time kindergarten school teacher and also doing a full time Masters in Education program. My husband works in the hospital full time. Our household is busy! We are looking for someone who is flexible, easy going, patient, organized, energetic, loves nature, animals and children. With our children being in school full time our nanny's responsibilities are a bit different, it is more of a house manager position while the children are in school. To give you an idea this is our current nanny's schedule. She typically starts at 10am, where she feeds our parrot, guinea pigs, cats and dogs. She will spend the day cleaning (the kitchen, vacuuming, laundry, washing floors, tidying up, clean bedrooms, organizing, packing children's lunches, taking out the garbage, making grocery list, unpacking groceries, making supper, etc.) When children arrive from school at 3pm, she helps the children unpack their lunch kits and plays with them until supper at 5pm. We then have dinner together and then she cleans up from supper and she is done her shift at 6pm. On professional development days, where children do not have school. She will be with the children all day, playing, making crafts, running and playing games outdoors, prep snacks, etc. There are days when my husband takes our nanny for pick up or drop off for school, if he has to work and she stays with them until I am able to come and pick both her and the children up. Our last Nanny has been with us for 2 years and is pursuing her career in nursing. We are hoping to find someone who wants a long term position as it is so hard for our children, as they get attached and see you as part of the family.
