I am Regina, a dedicated and experienced caregiver with over three years of working experience in the healthcare and senior care sector. Born and raised in Nigeria, I possess a Medical Laboratory Technology certificate and am a current Nursing student at the prestigious University of Calgary. Known for my hands-on approach, I am proud of my strong background in providing personal, efficient, and comprehensive support to a diverse range of clients.
My commitment to elder senior care was first inspired by my experiences growing up with my aging grandmother. This deeply personal inspiration, combined with my professional background, fuels my passion for ensuring each client is given personal and dignified care - values I practiced as a Community Support Worker with Exodus Care in Nigeria.
I have a wealth of expertise in tasks such as bathing, changing clothes and grooming, meal preparation, assistance with medication, and light housekeeping. I am always actively promoting a healthy and safe environment for my clients. My philosophy is to bring ethics and professionalism to every interaction, positively impacting the lives of those under my care.
Although I am based in Calgary and am not available to relocate, I can travel and am seeking a full-time employment. My availability is extensive, covering most days and hours of the week, which allows me great flexibility in adapting to the schedule of my clients.
My education includes a Caregiver / Companion certificate, First Aid certificate, CPR certificate, and ongoing pursuit of a bachelor's degree in nursing. I am experienced in handling a variety of patient diagnoses including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Dementia, Cancer, Stroke, Diabetes, and more. My preferred workplaces are in home health care settings, retirement homes, or clinics/hospitals.
I am a non-smoker and can competently undertake household duties like laundry, grocery shopping, meal planning/preparation, and errands, among others. Please note that while I do not own a driver's license or a vehicle, I am an avid walker and can provide assistance in that regard.
Finally, as a proud Nigerian citizen fluent in English and possessing a valid police check, I am eager to continue my caregiving journey in a full-time caregiver or personal support worker role. With a deep commitment to providing thoughtful, culturally sensitive care, I look forward to bringing my skills to a new role.
