I am a diligent university student with self-drive and a gulf of eagerness’. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Psychology from Eduvos University (formerly known as Pearson Institute of Higher Education). I am currently enrolled at Thompson River University, studying a post-baccalaureate in Liberal arts. Motivation, steady work ethic and determination are some of the things you will instantly notice about me. My ability to learn from my environment, solve abstract problems and steadfast approach to committing myself to the task at hand will make up for my lack of experience. I do, however, have work experience: I worked at Hamleys Fourways for a month but had to leave due to the calamities of the covid-19 pandemic. In my former role at Hamleys, I was in charge of assisting customers in selecting the appropriate products and rendering superior customer service. I frequently received praise for my excellent work ethic and sales. I aggressively sought out the guidance of senior team members, and I was open to the information they shared with me. I am able to adjust to shifting market conditions and have handled difficult sales scenarios including negotiating intricate contracts and managing significant accounts successfully. I also have experience in graphic design: I designed a logo for Si Spa (a local beauty spa in Gaborone, Botswana). I did volunteer work for an orphanage called Kasipiti Children’s Home in Zimbabwe. I started my service there in February and finished in September.

Last year, I was privileged to work at Nazareth House Harare, a senior citizen center dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to its residents. In my role, I've had the opportunity to offer companionship, assistance, and meaningful engagement to the elders who call this place home. One of my main responsibilities was to provide companionship to the residents, many of whom longed for social interaction and connection. I spent time chatting with them, listening to their stories, and sharing in their experiences. Whether it was a lively conversation over a cup of tea or a quiet moment of reflection, I made it a priority to ensure that each elder felt valued and appreciated. In addition to offering companionship, I assisted the dedicated staff at Nazareth House Harare in various tasks to ensure the smooth running of daily operations. From helping with meal preparation and serving to assisting with recreational activities and providing support with mobility, I approached each task with enthusiasm and dedication. My willingness to pitch in wherever needed allowed me to build strong relationships with both residents and staff alike. One of the highlights of my time at the center was reading to the elders. Whether it was a beloved novel, a collection of poems, or the daily news, I enjoyed sharing the joy of literature with them. Through the power of storytelling, I was able to transport them to different worlds, ignite their imagination, and stimulate their minds. Overall, my experience at Nazareth House Harare has been incredibly rewarding. It has taught me the importance of compassion, empathy, and human connection, and has deepened my appreciation for the wisdom and experiences of older adults. I am grateful for the opportunity to have made a positive impact in the lives of the elders, and I look forward to continuing to serve and support them with kindness and dedication.
