Hi. My name is Therese. My husband and I recently moved to Vancouver from Ontario to be closer to our daughters. I trained as a Registered Nurse, but decided to stay home with my children (I have 5) when they were born. I provided childcare in my home at this time for children ranging in the ages of 1 year and 7 years IWith my children being older, I decided to return to the nursing field as a PSW (Personal Support Worker). Along with my PSW certificate, I have 2 Palliative Care certificates, a First Aid / CPR certificate, and I am registered with the BC care aid registry. In Ontario I was employed at Hospice Wellington, Guelph ON (PSW placement); Parkwood Mennonite Home, Waterloo ON (long term care facility); and Derbecker’ Heritage House, St. Jacobs ON (long term care facility). I am compassionate and caring. I have a deep respect for the value of all individuals regardless of age. I am energetic and extend myself no matter what the activity. I have extensive life experience, and love working with people. It is my hope to continue working as a care aide here in Vancouver.

Heritage House, St. Jacobs ON is a long term care facility. I worked as a PSW for five and a half years providing care for the elderly and physically disabled. Parkwood Mennonite Home, Waterloo ON is a long term care facility. I worked there for four years as a PSW part time as a bath shift and casual on call. Hospice Wellington, Guelph ON is a palliative care facility. I did my PSW placement here and was hired part time casual. I worked there five months providing palliative care.
