Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. My name is Ma. Patricia Denise Claveria , 25-year-old and recently married last December 10, 2022. I finished my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing last June 2021. Last May 18, 2022 to August 07, 2023, I am working as a Regular Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Staff Nurse under nursing care at St. Luke’s Medical Center located in the Philippines. It has 542 bed capacity; English language is the mode of communication. It is a Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited hospital, an organization that accredits medical services from around the world. As part of the health care profession, I always aspire for better knowledge of how I can provide more compassionate care, especially to individuals with chronic and acute illness, physical disabilities, and the elderly. Moreover, I realized that I want to expand my knowledge to adapt not just in the hospital environment but also in variety of settings such as home care and long-term care facilities. When I learned about the Personal Support Worker program in Canada, I became interested. I know that this program will help me improve myself professionally to have a wider and deeper knowledge and skills in caring for patients. At present, I am currently enrolled in St. Clair College. I chose to study in Canada because this country is known for having a well-developed education system. Right now, I really need a part time job to sustain my expenses here in Canada. I am hardworking, flexible, compassionate and willing to learn more. My experience in nursing and physical therapy aligns well with personal support worker/caregiving position. Moreover, I handled elderly patients during my internship in Physical Therapy. I handled patients with chronic musculoskeletal and neurological cases such as Stroke, Dementia, Osteoporosis and more. I also have experience in Emergency Unit and wards. I am an active nurse volunteer in our community and church. I know that I will be an asset to your home/facility.
