We are seeking a reliable and experienced Housekeeper for a full-time, live-out position, who will perform cleaning duties to maintain our private household. This job is detail-oriented, so as a Housekeeper, you are encouraged to be attentive to detail and self-starter. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a passion for creating a clean and welcoming environment in our home and enjoy working in a team environment. Salary is between $26 -$28 per hour, depending on work experience. Shift hours: 10:30am – 7:00pm with days of the week to be determined (weekends included) Responsibilities Include: • Cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, dusting, vacuuming, mopping and sweeping floors; • Scrubbing sinks, bathtubs, showers and toilets in bathrooms • Dust and polish furniture and room accessories, • Vacuuming rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, • Dusting and polishing furniture and equipment, • Change bedroom & bathroom linens, and wash, • Laundry; washing, drying, ironing, folding. • Clean glass surfaces, mirrors and counters, as needed • Keep all public spaces neat and tidy • Report repairs and replacements needed, when encountered. • Collect and dispose of trash from bins and containers. • Occasionally reheating prepared meals. • General kitchen cleaning, cleaning appliances. • Administer evening turn-down. • Other duties as requested. Qualifications: • Previous housekeeping experience required. • Able to communicate effectively in English (verbally and written) • Ability to work both on a team, independently and efficiently. • Knowledge of and experienced, in the use and care of cleaning products and equipment. • Must be organized and pay attention to detail. • Comfortable with large friendly dogs. • Able to take direction, feedback, learn procedures and make suggestions to improve. • Capable of bending, kneeling and lifting. • Must Be Fully Covid 19 Vaccinated • Must obtain a clean criminal record check. • Valid class 5 drivers license helpful with use of a reliable vehicle. We have a living room, large kitchen, 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom area to clean. Cleaning and dusting and washing the hardwood floors will need attending. We have a small 1 year old dog who is friendly. We will be at home, but probably down stairs while the house is being cleaned. Mornings are preferred to afternoons. We would like the same or only two regular cleaners to do our cleaning. We can provide coffee or tea or soda if wanted. We are a senior couple. The wife had surgery on her elbow and can not lift anything for now. The husband is busy cooking and dog walking. Ideally we are looking for a couple . One person would be a full time house cleaner plus assisting with dinner parties doing prep and clean up . It is a large dusty house and needs a full time housekeeper . Various jobs in that position might include cleaning silver, throwing out old flowers and washing vases, keeping front porch clean and presentable, ironing, loading dishwasher and putting clean dishes away, cleaning ovens and the usual house cleaning duties. We also need a handyman who can do yard work as well . In exchange we are offering a newly renovated two bedroom suite with cable and internet as well as utilities included. The apartment has a TV and a washer and dryer . The apartment is in my son's house across town so the couple would have to have their own transportation or rely on the bus system . We are looking for a couple that would make a long term commitment to our offered positions . We would like the couple to eventually be able to know what needs to be done and take care of all the tasks as if they are caring for their own place. We have two budgie birds and caring for them when we are away would also be required. The handyman would know how to fix things and be handy with all aspects of home care and repair and yard work . Both must be able to take instruction well . These positions require that both people be strong and in good health . We are looking for non-smokers. Working at my son's or daughter's house cleaning and doing yard work may also be required . The brand new suite rents for $2, 200. a month but it would be supplied plus a starting wage of $1000. each per month . We are looking for a compatible fit to our family that is a reliable long term situation. It isn't possible to list all of the duties that may be asked of the employees but I hope the idea of the responsibilities of running a large household and properties is understood in what I have explained. Our two bedroom home is quite tidy but we need support with cleaning tasks including, disinfecting bathroom and kitchen. General dusting, vacuuming, sweeping patios. There may be the odd time when we need help folding laundry. We both work from home but will be out of your way but always available if you need help or support!
