I have had 18 years experience working with the elderly and dementia patients. I have worked in hospitals. Nursing homes and in clients homes. I am a 49 year old female who is kind living patient and calm. I love working with the young and elderly alike. I have worked in hospitals, homes, retirement homes and at a hospice.

I am a 39 year old female who enjoys the arts and outdoors. I am kind, gentle, friendly and love to laugh. I have a personal interest in holistic health and nutrition. I also run a small event floral company so love flowers and gardening. Growing up I spent a majority of my youth with my grandparents. It was through this experience I learned to respect but also relate with my elders. I have happily inherited my grandfather’s love of woodworking and history as well as my grandmother’s “joie de vivre” and artistic talent. My work in assisting and companionship for elderly began in my university years when I helped manage an estate in Muskoka. I would help with daily tasks, chores and most importantly provided friendly and helpful company for a lovely older couple for three summers until my education was completed. Nearly 20 years later and I have consistently volunteered in this capacity for members of my community whom I have been delighted to call friends. Recently I have realized how much there is a need for this type of work with our ageing population and how much I enjoy it, so I am moving towards making it a career. After finishing university amongst other things I have worked in the hospitality industry in fine dining which has given me the opportunity to refine my communication skills and hone my abilities to anticipate individuals needs and exceed expectations. My experience in property management has given me a keen sense of potential issues around the home that may need to be addressed. I also have a well rounded background in arts, music, and heath. I feel these are very valuable assets to create interesting and dynamic conversations and activities. I love the outdoors and recommend getting out for walks whenever possible and as an added bonus I also work as an event florist so I look forward to creating fresh arrangements to brighten any space. Spending a half or full day once or twice a week with a client would be ideal. This would offer enough time for a proper visit and to assist them on outings and errands. I am a single mother of four adult children and one grandchild. I have Twenty years experience as a PSW in long term care. I was a Firefighter for over 5 years. I was a Red Cross First Aid Instructor. I taught four fire halls First aid CPR /HCP and Emergency Patient care. I currently work on a secure unit. And have for many years.
