Looking for someone to play with our 3 year old son while my husband and I work from home. One of us is in a den in the house doing online counselling (with headphones in) and the other is writing and rehearsing music in a detached studio in our backyard. We are looking for someone who is easy-going, fun, grounded and confident with 3 year old behaviour. Our son likes to play with people and he also enjoys alone time playing by himself with his toys. We expect a balance of playing together, alone if he wishes, quiet-time with stories or a show he likes, snacks and outdoor play. We have a fenced off backyard to play in, as well we live very close to Oaklands Park. Currently, my hours are set for: Mondays and Tuedays: 9am-3pm Wednesdays and Thursdays 1pm-5pm Fridays 9am-12 I make my own schedule, so I am flexible to change these hours to better work for everyone. We are a kind and loving family. My partner and I will work with you to give you and our son a supported experience as you bond and figure each other out.

I have two boys, ages 7 and 9 and am searching for a reliable consistent caregiver for a few evenings each month. I’m a solo mom that works mostly from home but attends a few evening/late afternoon meetings or events a month. My needs tend to be over a dinner and putting one or both boys to bed. Typically no earlier than 4pm and typically on a Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. But someone with flexibility to do different days would be great! My 9 year old has adhd and needs firm (but fun) guidance to get stuff done. Both kids really react best to someone with experience and confidence. They love stories, games and general interaction. Screens are used only sparsely here but are available if needed to make things “easier”. Someone with a vehicle willing to drop off or pick up would be great but I might be able to work around this. Work is typically scheduled weeks and months in advance so lots of notice possible. I really hope to find a regular person to create consistency for my kids.

New to Langford/Westshore area (Millstream village neighbourhood), single shift-working father looking for flexible child care assistance. I have two lovely and active kids, a 7 year old boy and a 5 year old girl. I'm looking for some before and after school care, with two overnights a week while I'm on night shift. I work a 4 on/4 off schedule (think of it as an 8-day week). Two dayshifts, then two nightshifts. Working an 8-day week in a 7-day world means that my work days and days off rotate on a 6 week basis. So for example if I started work on Monday, I would need someone to get kids to school, pick them up after, prepare dinner for the kids. Same for Tuesday. On Wednesday, you would start work at 630 pm, and do the evening/bedtime routine, get a good nights sleep yourself, then do breakfast and get them off to school (this part is flexible). I'll sleep during the day. Thursday night, same routine. Friday would be my first day off, so you'd be up with kids, get them to school, and then be off. The next week, this would start on Tuesday. Obvious allowances made for school hours on Saturday and Sundays. While this is initially confusing, the pro is that I could give you a schedule months in advance. As well, there will be grandparents who will want to sub in occasionally. If you've made it this far, and have any questions, feel free to message me.
