Hello there! I'm Ashley, a 37-year-old animal lover based in Wasaga Beach with a passion for caring for all types of pets. From horses, dogs and cats to hamsters and bunnies, I've developed an understanding of various animals from a young age. My love for animals extends to wildlife and even exotic creatures, with experiences in befriending wild rabbits and chipmunks, and working with a traveling zoo that housed everything from reptiles and amphibians to exotic birds and baby alligators.
In my quest for knowledge, I've developed a keen interest in entomology and have a strong desire to study wildlife ecology, biology, and zoology in the future. Helping to protect creatures that are losing their habitats due to climate change and commercialism is a personal mission of mine. With my interest in wildlife rehabilitation, I aim to contribute positively to our ecosystems.
My schedule is incredibly flexible, being available during the morning, midday, evening, and nights all throughout the week. I welcome opportunities that may require travel or relocation. My services range from drop-in visits for feeding and playtime, dog walking, and house sitting to grooming. I am also proficient in administering oral medication and providing daily exercise for high-energy pets. I do not have a driver's license or vehicle, but that doesn't affect my commitment to animal care and welfare.
Although I do not currently possess an animal first aid/CPR certification, I'm actively working on obtaining it. You can trust me with senior and special needs pets, as evident from my experience with my own special needs cat. I also possess experience in assisting an AKG registered breeder with birthing and aftercare of two litters of puppies. Moreover, brushing your pets' teeth and fur is part of the thoughtful and caring service I provide.
As a non-smoker who speaks proficient English and eager to assure your comfort, I am willing to obtain a police check if required. I look forward to serving your cherished pets and providing them with the care, attention, and love they rightly deserve.
I’ve had an incredible life of experience with animals from riding and caring for horses and their stalls and paddocks etc, owning my own pets (bunnies, dogs, cats, hamsters etc) and also the many wildlife that I have become friends with most recently and through out my love life with animals. Currently I have grown the trust of a wild eastern cottontail rabbit and I am able to hand feed her, as well as my 2 little chipmunk friends I made this summer, whom will follow my lead and do tricks for their peanuts. (Lots on video of course!) and then there is the experience I had with exotic animals when I volunteered with a travelling zoo and had to learn about the behaviours and habitats of many exotic animals from a baby alligator, to other reptiles and amphibians, to exotic birds, and animals. (I can’t recall all as it’s been quite a few years since that incredible experience). I’m interested in pursuing wildlife rehabilitation as a hobby as well as interests in pursuing studies in wildlife ecology/biology/zoology as something I’m working towards. I have a love for animals so big it’s difficult to describe. I feel an intense need to help protected animals that have lost habitat due to climate change and commercialism, among many other reasons. I want to give to these precious creatures because they all play such important roles within our ecosystems. I also very much love the study of entomology! (Critters!)
