I am extensively available throughout the week, from mornings to night, on all days. Therefore, shifts will never be an issue and I am more than happy to adjust my schedule according to your requirements. In terms of duties, I am comfortable handling everything from basic household chores like housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation to more specific caregiving tasks such as assisting with walking, Alzheimer/Dementia care, and escorting to appointments. I am comfortable working with clients diagnosed with Dementia, Hearing Impairment and Congestive Heart Failure. I can also plan visits, outings, and trips to visit neighbors, friends, and family which adds social interactions and improves the patient's lifestyle. I want to note that though I do not have a driver's license and cannot use a vehicle on the job, I can still travel even to remote areas and have no problem with relocating if required. Furthermore, I am committed to maintaining a healthy and non-smoking environment for those under my care. While I don't currently have a work permit, I am willing to obtain one. Though I am unable to provide swimming assistance, I am proficient in providing toileting assistance and bathing help as required, being capable to give bed baths and to handle bed pans safely and hygienically. I am open to both live-in and live-out arrangements, and while I do not have children of my own, I am open to working with children with disabilities. Lastly, while I am yet to obtain a police check, I am willing to get one for the peace of mind of the families I work with. My journey began with a profound interest in understanding the unique needs of older adults when I was a university student. I was looking for a job and our neighbors needed a care provider for their mother. I knew her and started helping her. She was 76 when I started and we had a good time together: we walked, cooked, watched and discussed movies, read books, sang songs and walked outside. So this job came naturally to me. I helped her for 2 years. Then my own parents got old and I dedicated my life to them. I built my online teaching job in order not to leave our house and was around them helping all the time. We had a big garden so I encouraged my elderly and weak parents to plant and help me a little bit or watch me planting vegetables. I read books for them, discussed news, baked pies and cooked as cooking makes you happy and relaxed. I kept the house clean and organized as it showed my love for them. I gave them my heart and they were constantly happy with me, The experience and my knowledge of human psychology I am eager to share with anyone in need. We played with their family dogs and cats. I helped my clients to exercise and be active, accompanied my clients to appointments and took them on outings to keep them active.
