I'm currently a student at UVic, studying climate science. I have lived in Victoria for the past three years but I grew up in Calgary. This summer I worked as an intern in Vancouver, before that I worked at a cafe, a grocery store, and as a camp counsellor. In my spare time I love to get outside and explore the island! For three years (2017-2019) I was a camp counsellor at an overnight summer camp. My tasks included general child care, leading educational lessons, and creating a fun and comfortable environment for campers. I have been babysitting since the age of 14, for various families with 1-3 kids. I also have 2 years of experience with tutoring primarily in math and science, but I'm also comfortable with other subjects. I have completed the Babysitting Course and Prevent It through Little Warriors. I also previously had my First Aid and CPR C certification that has since expired.

I am married, living in Metchosin. Most of my children are grown, with families of their own, with the exception of my 18 & 16 year olds. I love being a mother & a grandmother. Sadly, our grandchildren all live in Alberta. I miss having children around. I have many interests, hobbies and attributes that are a great fit with children, including crafts, gardening & cooking. My name is Lilian, I'm from a small town in the Okanagan and moved to Victoria to pursue my undergraduate degree at UVic. I'm currently working towards a major in theatre and a minor in art education which I will then use to gain my teaching degree for high school. My dream is to be the teacher that students feel comfortable with and to help them grow with the techniques I've learned during my years of applied theatre practice and following a fine art-driven education system. This will help them develop personable skills like collaboration which are crucial in real life settings as well as academic. Some of my other hobbies involve creative work like costume design, painting and baking but I am also a huge outdoors person. Hikes, paddleboarding, gardening, you name it and I'll love it! I am a calm and easygoing individual, who has previous experience in babysitting when in my younger years. Now I am pursuing a degree in theatre and art education which has supported my development and knowledge of aiding students as they grow in the school system (I'm getting my teaching degree after my undergraduate).

I am open to learning and am very empathetic and understanding person. I have a younger sibling and technically has experience. I love art and nature. I have been babysitting since I took the Red Cross Babysitting course at age twelve. I grew up with three siblings so I babysat my little brother and his friends for years. I looked after a four year old boy for two and a half years before moving to Victoria. When taking care of Lake I helped with his developmental set backs by specializing in Child-Led play; as well as outdoor activities and lots of indoor games. I also prepared meals and did light cleaning around the house. During this time I also did part time care for an 18 month old until he was three. Before coming to Lakes family I did part time childcare for a two year old until he was six. I would take Emmett to the park, play with him indoors, put him to bed and stay over night. I have had many other short term nanny jobs through out the years and have experience taking care of groups of five to ten children for the Nelson Waldorf School. I am a simple 18 year old young woman whom just graduated high school and is currently looking for part-time work. I live at home with my parents and 2 older brothers. I frequently spend my time outdoors, reading books and painting. Along with my various side activities, such as judo, biking, horse care, I have always leaned towards caring for others. I have worked for my neighbours, family friends, direct family, 2 air b&b's and a few industrial cleaning clients. I have just graduated High School from Reynolds Secondary. During my time there, I acquired my first aid certificate, a small pleasure craft operating license and won 3rd place in a fine furnishing contest. Although I am not planning on attending college at this stage of my life, worry not, my education supersedes the assumptions of most.
