We are seeking a live-in caregiver for an 81-year-old female who was recently diagnosed with Vascular Parkinson's and has mobility problems, particularly in her lower body. She is originally from the Caribbean. She has lived in the Oak Bay area of Victoria with her husband for 40+ years and worked at the University of Victoria as a professor for several years. Some important qualities for her caregiver are a friendly personality, flexibility and a helpful spirit. The live-in caregiver responsibilities include: Assist with activities of daily living, including: - administering her medication, - bathing, - dressing, - grooming, - toileting, - transferring (that is, providing mobility assistance, such as, helping her in and out of bed, a chair, the wheelchair, or her rollator). - accompanying her on grocery shopping trips - accompanying her on doctor's appointments - Assisting her with her daily exercise routine which sometimes will include walks organized by her husband - Providing emotional support and encouraging her to do as much of her own care as is possible. - Providing her with companionship - Keeping her as well as her living environment clean and tidy. - Monitoring and reporting any changes in her health, behaviour, or needs. - Having a willingness to work flexible hours which will usually include waking up at least once during the night to let her urinate. No driving, cooking, or house cleaning.

We need a caregiver to help take care of our 14 year old girl at our home. She has cerebral palsy and needs help and care with her daily activities. Duties will include: direct personal care, dressing, transferring, stretching, reading, walking, bowel/bladder management, food prep, dishes, light house cleaning, laundry, the operation of lift devices. The caregiver would accompany us to her appointments, family outings and vacations. We need a caring person to assist us with a minimum three day work shift a week, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. We are also doing home schooling now and looking for someone that is open to learning/doing sign language and participating in educational activities and projects. Accommodation is available for your 3 days and nights worked. You would have your own furnished room in our home during your days of work. Job Description: I am seeking a Personal Attendant to provide non-medical personal support services to assist with the following responsibilities: Personal Care: Occasional dressing assistance, and grooming but mostly supervision during personal care activities. Mobility Support: Aid with morning stretches, putting on and taking off foot braces, and transferring from a daily wheelchair to a sports wheelchair. Meal Assistance: Support with grocery organization, shopping, and meal preparation (i.e. opening jars, and cutting vegetables) Healthcare system navigation: Assistance with healthcare appointments and scheduling Handy Dart rides, as well as managing appointments throughout the week. Companionship: Engaging in activities and providing support. I frequently participate in adaptive sports like adaptive climbing, wheelchair tennis, and skiing. Accompaniment to activities and events. Environment: Ensuring a safe and tidy living space. Help with laundry and light housekeeping (i.e. help me empty my Roomba). Travel: I travel a lot and if you enjoy travelling (costs will be covered) then that would be a bonus. I am looking for a travel assistant, but the duties can be incorporated into this job if you are interested. Job Requirements: - Educational or professional background in healthcare or experience with caregiving, is beneficial. If you are studying nursing, PT, OT etc. this is a great way to get some experience from a person with lived experience. - Compassionate and empathetic demeanour toward individuals requiring support. - Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate. - Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility. - Flexible hours and ability to commit to multiple days a week - Ability to drive is a bonus

We are seeking a senior caregiver to visit my mom in Victoria for a couple of hours Monday to Friday in the afternoon. There is some flexibility. Pay is $20 to $25 per hour based on experience. We need someone to get to know an 84 year old senior with some depression. She is strong-willed, loves exercising and discussing topics or books. Our end goal is to see she does some exercises and socializes. Toileting, bed changes, laundry, food prep, etc. are handled by someone else. Currently, she has some limited mobility but likes to go for walks. She lives with us but in a separate part of the house and we work full time. She has a dog, so helping with dog walking would be great. Also taking her to various appointments or grocery shopping. 2 hour/5 days/week. Flexible on hours and days. $20 -$25 /hour. Must have experience with seniors, exercises, companionship. Qualifications/experience: - have previous experience with seniors - patient but not a push over, confident and firm - some knowledge of mental health - have 2 referrals
