Compassionate, patient and experienced Care Provider sought to be a companion to an elderly lady with a cheerful disposition and advanced dementia. Duties include positive and ongoing communication, toileting, showering, light meal prep, light housekeeping, and ensuring the client gets fresh air and light exercise. We are seeking an individual to work a minimum of 5-6 days per week and offer free room and board. Hourly rate is commensurate with experience and is negotiable, starting at 25.00 per hour, plus overtime, vacation pay and statutory holidays. I am a 45 yr old male quadriplegic from a swimming accident. I live independently in my own home in the Boucherie area of West Kelowna. I am easygoing, positive, and like to try to stay busy. I have a caregiver leaving to have a baby so I am looking for someone to assist me in all aspects of day to day life. Experience is not required as I am willing to train the right person. Duties include all personal care, cooking, helping with house chores, accompanying me to appointments and social activities. Basically helping me get through day-to-day life. I enjoy being physically active outside, gardening, cooking, watching tv and movies, concerts, sporting events, and always open to trying new things. I have a ceiling lift to assist with transfers. I have an accessible van that will need to be driven so a valid drivers license is a must. I have a dog too so should be comfortable around pets. A criminal record check may be requested. $21/hr to start then $23 after three months

West Kelowna Nature of the Position: Successful applicant will act as a Community Support Worker for a 25 year-old boy with Autism, Catatonia & Crohn’s Disease. You will have a passion for working with those with diverse abilities. You will assist in increasing his quality of life by connecting him to his community. Qualifications include: Education and experience in the Human Service Worker field 28312; Knowledge of Activity Based Program and Planning Knowledge of Natural Teaching Strategies & Positive Behavior Support Planning Knowledge and familiarity with Autism Knowledge of/ or experience with EIBI Skills Required: Planning Activities while imbedding goals as outlined in the Community Support Plan provided. Ability to use your own vehicle to drive to and from community programs & activities Ability to create an active community involvement schedule based on clients interests. Flexibility with schedule to attend concerts & cosplay conventions with client A passion for community connection and involvement. The caregiver will need to have taken a first aid course and have a driver's license. Training will be provided. A talkative person would be good as my daughter can hear, but not speak and has a visual impairment. You can make her world come alive. Right now we need a split shift with mornings and evenings but coming soon we will need day shifts Monday until Thursday, temporarily. Dressing, feeding and toileting are needed daily. When doing dayshifts you are required to take daughter out into community using our van. Our daughter loves to be outside and listening to music.

I am looking for caregivers to take care of my Mom. She is currently at a care home in West Kelowna. She has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Mom is physically healthy and active, able to get around with no assistance what so ever. She loves doing chair yoga, walking and socializing. She is able to carry on conversations with no problem. Mom is having problems with everyday task such as needing assistance with getting dressed, making her bed, cleaning, laundry, taking medications and blood pressure. I am looking for caregivers to help mom out 7-days a week (e.g. 2 caregiver 2-days a week, 1 caregiver 3 days a week) between 4-8 hours a day, starting in the morning till the afternoon. She is in a one bedroom apartment which is easy to keep tidy. The caregiver will not have be with Mom the whole time as she is able to get around the facility her self to go to different activities and for lunch and dinner. A sample of a day with my Mom. Meet her in the morning help her with breakfast which is toast and coffee. Help her get dressed for the day. Go through the daily activities with mom for the day. Remind her to go to the different activities such as chair yoga, social hour, games, puzzles or aqua classes they have a swimming pool onsite. Remind her to go for lunch at the dining room. Go for a walk. Make her bed, tidy up apartment, take out garbage which is next to her apartment. Do laundry not everyday. Go on shuttle with her once a week to do grocery shopping. Remind her visitors stopping in. Mom sister, brother, niece and grand daughter live in West Kelowna and drop in for a visit. This is just a sample of the day just to show that it isn't full on care it is assistance with daily activities. Once Mom needs more assistance we will be moving her to another facility that can provide the proper care for her. I am able to answer any other questions by email but prefer to discuss over the phone.

Part-time Caregiver Wanted Start Date: 18th October 2023 I am in need of a caring and enthusiastic individual to serve as a part-time caregiver for a self-sufficient elderly woman living in a seniors residence. The ideal candidate would be available Wednesday mornings for less than 20 hours per week. The job responsibilities primarily involve housekeeping tasks, including vacuuming, laundry, bathroom cleaning, washing dishes by hand, and assisting with pet care, specifically cleaning the cat litter. These tasks are meant to maintain a clean, comfortable living environment, and make life a little easier for the client. Thankfully, this position does not necessitate any cooking or driving tasks. Thus, it is a non-driving role, making a driver’s license unnecessary, and the use of an automobile not applicable. This is a live-out arrangement for the Caregiver. Remuneration will be negotiated based on experience and suitability for the role.
