I am an 18-year-old Indigenous biologically female. I am currently attending post-secondary school at Trent University and I am seeking summer employment. I do not have much experience, but I love animals. I have a 2-year-old Husky, a German shepherd, I absolutely love her and spoil her. I love dogs and would take care of them as my own. I do have experience working with and taking care of high-energy dogs. I also have a cat, I am not sure what kind but I have had her since I was 10 and I love her just as much as my dog. I am a grade 12 student at Greater Fort Erie Secondary School, where I am an active member of my school community. Besides being a diligent student, I am involved in Student Council, where I am a grade representative and have many responsibilities such as chairing events, raising school spirit, and running school-wide functions such as dances and colour wars. I am also a peer mentor for two grade nine students, which includes looking out for their well-being, encouraging their involvement in high school life, and helping with homework. Being an older sibling, I have always been the go-to babysitter in the house. Looking after my younger sister is a normal part of my weekly schedule. Over the past few years, I have also expanded to babysitting for three different families of children ages 1-9 years old. This has taught me many skills such as problem-solving, communication, time management, and leadership. I am currently doing a co-op at Douglas Memorial Hospital. I am planning on going to school for nursing in the fall next year. I don't have any experience getting paid but I have had dogs my whole life. Every year my friend's parents go away and I always help take care of there cats when they are gone.
