Hello! Let me introduce myself - I'm Sophia. I have successfully completed my first year of nursing at St. Lawrence College (SLC). However, my academic journey had to be paused due to an unfortunate incident. You see, I experienced a fall and fractured my tibia, which put a halt to my physical capabilities and thus, rendered me incapable of continuing the program this year.
However, despite this setback, I was able to take advantage of the situation. In the interim period of my recovery, I used my prior knowledge from my first year at SLC to become a certified Personal Support Worker (PSW).
In the course of my academic journey, I've had some notable experiences in the field. I had my first clinical experience at a palliative ward, offering end-of-life care to patients. My second clinical stint was at a medical-surgical ward. Both of these experiences have greatly enriched my knowledge and understanding of nursing as a profession.
Once I healed and recovered from my injury, I started to work at a retirement home in the memory care department. This opportunity allowed me to utilize my skills and training in a real-world setting. The work I did there was truly rewarding. I developed a deep and enduring love for my job, as well as a profound affection for the residents who lived there.
Now, I currently find myself actively looking for part-time work. I am equipped to provide support in a number of ways - be it cleaning, caring for your loved one, or anything else you might need help with. Moreover, I'm eager to become a part of a new community. I would cherish the opportunity to get to know you, understand your needs, and offer my skills and experience where they are needed most.
